Answer:

My name is Hodonu Mawuton Mayowa, a student of Fine and Applied Arts Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.


 I am the creative director of Just Kokonut, a C.A.C registered business that makes Art and Crafts all from Coconut shells, I head a branch of Just Kokonut (Coco Crafts by Mawuton) that specialises in making use of coconut shells mainly for the fashion industry, making mini crafts like necklaces and earrings. 

Question 2: tell us about your business

Answer:

JustKokonut was founded by my Dad Mr Hodonu Nathaniel, who is an artist that started making use of coconut shells for art pieces (assemblages) in the whole of Africa, with the vision of reclaiming and repurposing coconut shells into functional crafts and aesthetically pleasing art.

This company also looks forward to training youths all over Nigeria first, then Africa, taking each parts of the world, eradicating unemployment with the most unregarded waste in communities. 

We make; Jugs, Cups (wine cups, tea cups), pen and card holders, table decorations, bangles, keyholders, necklaces e.t.c. These listed are examples of crafts all made with coconut shells. 










We also make wonderful portraiture, assemblages, and other Arts, arranging bits of shell on board.

We are open for sales, commissioning, training, as well as sponsorships, as our creativity and productivity is limited due to lack of funds and required machines.
